Drug Detox
Why Our Medical Detox Works
For over 25 years, Pat Moore Foundation has specialized in drug detox programs. In fact, we were featured in recent episodes of A&E's Intervention (Gabriel's story). Our detox programs feature medically-managed and pain-free Suboxone and Subutex treatments. Containing Buprenorphine, both are safe and effective medications for opiate detox. For individuals addicted to heroin, vicodin, codeine or other opiate drugs, including prescription drugs like OxyContin (oxycodone), patients are given a long-acting synthetic opiate medication (such as Buprenorphine) that prevents opiate withdrawal, blocks the effects of illicit opiate use and decreases opiate craving. Buprenorphine therapy is especially helpful for heroin withdrawal, heroin detox, OxyContin detox and other opiate drugs.
Mitigating Physical Symptoms of Detox
Managing the physical symptoms of withdrawal associated with the discontinuation of drugs is an important aspect of the detox process. At Pat Moore Foundation, we understand how the detox process affects the individual and we specialize in treating various drug addictions such as prescription drug addiction (barbiturates and benzodiazepines), methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, alcohol, and opiate derivatives such as heroin, OxyContin, Vicodin, Norco and codeine. While detoxification exclusively is rarely sufficient in terms of assisting addicts in achieving long-term abstinence, we also recommend residential treatment of up to 90 days (30-day minimum) in conjunction with a customized detox program.

Detox in a Safe Environment
At Pat Moore Foundation detox occurs in a safe, comfortable, home-like environment that is a crucial element for the client’s state of mind. During this process individuals are still able to participate in counseling sessions with their case manager and group therapy with their peers, contingent on their physical well-being.
If the individuals require further medical attention, Costa Mesa and the Newport Beach area have renowned hospitals within a few minutes of Pat Moore Foundation's Costa Mesa campus and facility.
